About Me
I grew up from humble beginnings in poverty and was always intrigued about human behavior. I started in middle school reading books about Psychology. Trying to find my own path in the world and following the wrong crowd of people getting in trouble. I didn’t go to college right after high school due to not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. Through alot of trial and error, I found myself trying to take some classes because I knew I had a higher purpose and wanted to be in a position to help others.
My philosophy is “treat others the way they prefer to be treated” with dignity and respect. Despite the stigma that still exists in our society today, I think we forget that we are all human. My treatment approach is a more Humanistic and Person-Centered.
My practice philosophy as I learned early on in my career is to treat others with compassion. Treating others with dignity and respect as we walk this path together. I take the objective approach in listening to your story, then follow through with person centered goal setting to set you up for success.
I have been working in the helping profession since 2008, holding position in Social work, Substance Abuse Counseling, and now providing more Psychotherapy in private practice. I have worked in a lot of different settings such as Crisis Services, Acute Psychiatric Hospitals, and in multiple Outpatient Clinics. I went back to school for my Substance Abuse Certificate and became a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor. I'm a Independent Clinical Supervisor and have worked in multiple outpatient clinics in a consultant capacity. I currently work as a Licensed Professional Counselor doing Psychotherapy in my own solo private practice. I also do equine therapy at Stable Hands with Veterans.
